Taiwan international to compete at Kaptagat half marathon

Eroll Chen, the Taiwan international will be one of the international athletes who will be competing for the Kaptagat Half marathon title set for this Sunday in Kaptagat, Uasin Gishu county.

Dubbed Sports For Conservation, Chen will be lining up against elite and untested athletes for the coveted race in the region to conserve Kaptagat Forest that is under threat of distinction.

“I want to try my best and finish in top ten. I have been training in Kenya and I have gained much needed experience, ready for the challenge,” said Chen.

The runner, who last week competed at the national championships will be using the race as part of his training for Chicago marathon set for October 13th.

“The race will be good for me and instead of going for morning run, I will be running as part of my training. I want to gain good time to help me run well in Chicago next month,” added Chen.

The athlete also competed at the 2014 Kass marathon as well as 2015 national cross country championships at Uhuru Park.
