ELAGERINI CAMP & VILLAGE HOMESTAYS is registered in the republic of Kenya and having her registered offices at KAPTAGAT RD C54, LR No UG KAPTAGAT/498. It is an establishment providing hospitality services and provides camping facilities to athletes, travellers and tourists.
Detailed information will be emailed to all entrants one month before the marathon day and will be posted on our website .All entrants are asked to park Strabag shopping centre. Buses will take half marathoners to the start at Kipchawat from Zion Mall – Eldoret City and Strabag. BIBs will be transported so they are waiting at the finish line. Please note – all events will start at 8:30am – 11.30am.
ELAGERINI CAMP & VILLAGE HOMESTAYS is responsible for Kaptagat Forest Half Forest Marathon event and race production, management – overseeing organizing committees to working with local officials and handling registration, credentialing, lead vehicles and course set up; as well as consulting services. Athletic Kenya (AK) and volunteer teams are responsible for the technical and logistical aspects of the Half Marathon, 5K fun run and the Fitness Walk.
Local Organizing Committee
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 2018 edition of Kaptagat Forest Half Marathon (KFHM) was convened by Elagerini Camp, the TITLE SPONSOR of the Half Marathon; other sponsors were Telkom Kenya, Dola, Reale Hospital, Kenya Forest Service, Tristar, Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties. However, these sponsorships were in kind. The LOC comprised Elagerini Camp, Keino Sports Event, Athletic Kenya, Greater Kaptagat Green Association (GreKGA) and other stakeholders. The bulk of the Cash raised came from registration. Each of the 373 athletes paid Ksh500 to participate in the run. Schools and corporate bodies paid Ksh1, 000 for their teams or groups.
The LOC has changed its name to Kaptagat Marathon Organising Committee (KMOC). This Committee is responsible for the organisation of 2019 Kaptagat Forest marathon and is based in Elagerini Camp and Safari Villastays. A steering committee shall decide on the priorities and manage the general course of the marathon operations. The goal of the 2019 edition of Kaptagat Forest 21km Marathon (where funds allow, 42km marathon) and the 5km fun run is to raise awareness on the need for the conservation of Kaptagat Forest, create work for the youths living within the border of Kaptagat Forest and create a revolving fund for financing:
